A Casero home is built room by room, by Belizean hands, for the part of your life that finally feels real.

Casero Living is the design and lifestyle arm of Casero — Belize's tropical-luxury master brand. We create custom interiors, hand-built furnishings, and the curated set of services that turn a finished structure into a home you'll want to grow old in.

Every project begins the same way: a long conversation about how you want to live, the light you want to wake up to, the wood that should be under your bare feet. Then we build it — slowly, by hand, in collaboration with the same craftsmen who have been shaping homes in Cayo and the cayes for generations.

What We Do

Four practices, one house. Yours.

Casero Living holds the design, craft, and lifestyle work that surrounds the Casero Homes construction service. Each practice is small, intentional, and Belize-rooted.

01

Interior Design

From the first sketch to the final cushion: full design service for new builds and existing homes. We work in close collaboration with Casero Homes when both are commissioned together.

02

Hardwood Goods

Custom furniture, doors, millwork, and built-ins, hand-built in mahogany, cabbage bark, ziricote, and other native Belizean hardwoods. Available standalone or as part of a home commission.

03

Outfitting

The full art of dressing a finished home — textiles, lighting, fixtures, art, the ten thousand small decisions that turn a building into a sanctuary. We source globally; we install locally.

04

Lifestyle Services

By appointment. Property concierge, curated household setup for new arrivals, and seasonal styling for clients who divide their year between Belize and elsewhere.

Selected Work

A range of homes, one philosophy.

Modern coastal contemporary, traditional Caribbean, indoor-outdoor pavilion. Every Casero home is shaped by its site, its owner, and the hands that built it — but each one shares the same patient pace and material honesty.

The Verandah

Where indoors and outdoors stop being two ideas.

A Casero home is built around the part you live in most: the threshold. Wide verandahs, deep eaves, hardwood floors that continue from the living room into the courtyard. Tropical luxury isn't about climate control. It's about welcoming the breeze in.

Polished Belizean mahogany hardwood detail
Materials & Craft

The country's irreplaceable luxury is its hardwoods.

Belize's forests have produced some of the most extraordinary furniture-grade timber on Earth — mahogany and cabbage bark used by master cabinetmakers since the eighteenth century. We source legally and sparingly from sustainable plantations and salvage operations, and we work the wood here, in Cayo District, by hand.

Hand-Built

The quietest detail is usually the longest argument.

Every joint, every threshold, every cabinet pull is decided in the workshop, not the catalog. Our craftsmen include third-generation cabinetmakers from Spanish Lookout, master door builders from San Ignacio, and stoneworkers who shape limestone the way it's been shaped on this peninsula for centuries.

Nothing in a Casero home arrives in a box. Everything is made, here, for you.

Our Process

A patient, four-phase rhythm.

Building from another country requires trust. Our process is designed to deliver it — through transparency, long phone calls, weekly photographic updates, and a calm pace that no one regrets at handover.

Phase One

Conversation

Three to six weeks of talking — site visits if you can, video walks if you can't. We surface your way of living, not your style preferences.

Phase Two

Design

Architectural drawings, material palette, interior strategy. Refined together until every line earns its place. No build-off-the-shelf.

Phase Three

Build

Construction in coordination with Casero Homes when commissioned together. Weekly photographic updates. Site walkthroughs whenever you fly in.

Phase Four

Move-In

The home is fully outfitted before you arrive — bed made, lights on, kitchen stocked. Ongoing care available through Casero Management.

Casero Living is part of Casero Holdings — a vertically integrated luxury platform anchored at our five-acre campus in Cayo District, Belize.

Building in Belize

A short, honest guide for foreign buyers.

Most concerns about building in Belize fall into a few familiar categories. Here's what we tell every client at the first phone call.

Can foreigners own land in Belize?

Yes. Belize has no restrictions on foreign land ownership. Title is freehold, registered, and recognized under English common law. Most expat purchases close in 60–90 days.

How long does a custom build take?

For a Casero-quality home: 14–22 months from the signed design package to handover. We move slower than the market — and our clients prefer it.

What about residency?

Belize's QRP (Qualified Retired Persons) program offers favorable tax treatment for retirees over 45. The Permanent Residency pathway has a one-year residency requirement. We can refer you to vetted immigration counsel.

How are budgets structured?

Fixed pricing on the design package; phased pricing on construction with monthly draws against measurable milestones. No allowance creep — we price the materials we'll actually use.

What happens during hurricane season?

All Casero homes are engineered to exceed Belize Building Act requirements and to withstand Category 4 winds. We pause specific outdoor work between June and November but indoor and protected-shell work continues.

Can we manage the home when we're away?

Yes — through Casero Management, our property management arm. Most foreign-owner clients eventually use Management for everything from caretaking to short-term rental coordination.

Begin the Conversation

If a quiet life in Belize has been on your mind, the first step is a phone call.

No pitch decks, no aggressive follow-up. Just a long conversation about what you'd build, who you'd build it for, and whether we're the right people to build it with you.
